I studied at Birmingham City University and achieved a degree Speech and Language Therapy. I began my career in the NHS working in community clinics, mainstream schools and with families at home. In 2022 I began working independently, extending my practice to working in pre-school settings and special schools.
I've worked with children on an individual basis, in groups and supported others to deliver speech and language therapy interventions in educational settings. I have also supported families and educational staff in the EHCP process through providing assessment and creating reports for EHCP applications and annual reviews. My goal is to deliver high quality assessment and therapy personalised to your child's needs to help them develop their communication skills. I am passionate about incorporating a neurodiversity affirming approach to my therapy and working collaboratively with families. I am a parent to three children, and I grew up with a close family member with neurodiversity who experiences significant communication challenges. This helps me to understand lived experiences of families looking for support for their children and the importance of providing clear and practical feedback and advice. I have a special interest in supporting children and young people who present as Gestalt Language Processors and am registered as a Naturalistic Language Acquisition trained clinician. I am a registered member of the Health Professions Council (HCPC), the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), which is the professional body for Speech and Language Therapists in the UK, and the Association of Speech and Language Therapist in Independent Practice (ASLTIP). |
